PDF to Word

Convert a PDF into a .docx file. Complex layouts may shift slightly.

This conversion needs a server. Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, processed immediately, and deleted right after — within 15 minutes at the latest as a safety net.

PDFs convert to Word (.docx) on our server. Text usually comes through cleanly — complex layouts may shift.

How to

  1. 1

    Upload PDF

Max 50 MB (signed in: 100 MB).

  2. 2

    Convert

"Convert to Word" runs server-side — usually under 10 seconds.

  3. 3

    Download

You get a .docx with text, images and basic formatting.

Tips

  • For scanned PDFs, run OCR first — otherwise the Word file just has images without editable text.
  • Complex multi-column layouts or tables may not survive 1:1 — that's a limitation of LibreOffice's PDF importer.

Frequently asked about this tool

How accurate is the layout?
For simple documents (text + images) very good. For scientific papers, Excel exports or complex layouts there are often shifts — a known PDF→DOCX limitation.
What about scanned PDFs?
Without OCR, the image becomes an embedded picture in Word — text isn't editable. Run "OCR" first, then "PDF to Word".
